Adam Forepaugh and Sells' Riders
This promotional circus poster advertises one of Adam Forepaugh and Sell’s circus events and shows thirteen performers in elaborate costumes posing on moving horses. The show boasted it included “Representative Riders of Every Class and Country.” The Forepaugh & Sells Circus was created in 1896 when James A. Bailey, who had purchased Forepaugh's original circus, combined with the Sells Brothers (Ephraim, Lewis, and Peter). This color lithograph was printed ca. 1900 (LC-DIG-ppmsca-55064).
