This three-quarter length portrait of 16th President Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) was shot just months before the end of the Civil War and his assassination. Lincoln is remembered for many things, including his deep belief in supporting the Union during a costly civil war, and his great speeches and writings including the Emancipation Proclamation and the Gettysburg Address.
