Park visitors arriving in Gardiner, Montana, by train were transported by carriage to park facilities. These Yellowstone visitors are on the road by the Gardner River, heading to Mammoth Hot Springs. The stagecoach was the main means of transportation in the park until 1917 when the park purchased a fleet of buses. Photographed by F. Jay Haynes, hand tinted by Stanley R. Waine.
