Women Gathering Yucca Plants
This undated watercolor and ink on illustration board was mounted on Masonite, created by an unknown artist. The tradition in various cultures was for women to gather yucca for use for making textiles, rope, baskets, and soap. It was also a source of food since its flowers, fruit, and even the cooked roots were edible. (Smithsonian)
