This painting shows Confederate troops under the command of Gen. Stonewall Jackson advancing on the Union Army. The engagement took place in early May 1863. Three officers are seen coming to help a wounded Gen. Jackson. This chromolithograph was published ca. 1890 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01844).
