Battle of Chattanooga
This painting shows Union Gen. Thomas’s charge on Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After capturing the first line of defense, this surprise attack (against the orders of Gen. Grant) broke the Confederate line and contributed to the Union victory. This color lithograph was published ca. 1888 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01845).
