This painting shows a scene from a Civil War battle and eventual Confederate victory. It took place in Chickamauga, Georgia, in mid-September 1863. Union troops, led by Major Gen. William Rosecrans, fought against Confederate troops led by Gen. Braxton Bragg. This color lithograph was published ca. 1890 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01846).
