Battle of Ft Donelson
This painting shows the Battle of Fort Donelson, a major Civil War engagement fought in Stewart County, Tennessee, in mid-February 1862. It was a first major win for Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, earning him the nickname “Unconditional Surrender Grant.” This color lithograph was published ca. 1886 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01849).
