This painting shows the Battle of Williamsburg (Virginia), fought May 5, 1862. Union troops led by Gen. George B. McClellan attacked the Confederate rear guard led by Gen. James Longstreet. Although there was no clear victory, the battle did delay the Union advance. This color lithograph was published ca. 1893 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01860).
