This painting shows the Battle of Cold Harbor fought during the Civil War near Richmond, Virginia, from May 31 to June 12. This Union assault against Confederate forces resulted in vast Union casualties and resulted in a Confederate victory. This print was published ca. 1888 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01881).
