The Battle of Atlanta (Georgia) took place on July 22, 1864, during the Civil War. It was an important part of the Atlanta Campaign led by Union Gen. William T. Sherman as they attempted to capture the Confederate city. The Union was victorious despite heavy casualties. This color lithograph was published ca. 1888 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01842).
