This painting shows the Battle of Tippecanoe, fought in present-day Indiana on November 7, 1811, during the War of 1812. The conflict pitted US troops led by Indiana Gov. William Henry Harrison against Native American warriors led by Shawnees Tecumseh and his brother. This chromolithograph was published ca. 1889 by Kurz & Allison (LC-DIG-pga-01891).
