This hand-colored lithograph was created in 1836 by American portrait artist American engraver and artist James Otto Lewis (1799-1858). The portrait was created for The Aboriginal Portfolio (or The Aboriginal Port-Folio), a book illustrating Native American chiefs, warriors, and scenes from treaty ceremonies. It was published in Philadelphia in monthly parts between 1835 and 1836.
