Moose by the Lake
These mammals are the largest member of the deer family and can weigh up to 1500 pounds (male) or 1100 pounds (females). They live in North America and Eurasia, where they are called elk. Their striking appearance includes a large droopy muzzle and a hairy dewlap that dangles from the neck. The males shed their large antlers yearly.
