Herd of Musk Oxen in Snow

Musk oxen are large, shaggy Arctic mammals that live in the Arctic tundra in Alaska, Canada, and Greenland. They have a thick, shaggy, dark-brown, two-layered coat to guard against the cold. These large herbivores can weigh up to 900 pounds. They use their hooves to dig through the snow to find roots, mosses, and lichens. In the summer, they also eat the sparse grass and Arctic flowers in their habitat.
