Bear Cub
Eight species of bears inhabit North America, South America, Asia, and Europe, with six species considered threatened or vulnerable. Bear cubs are typically born in January or February while their mother hibernates in the den. Despite that they may grow up to weigh 60 to 1,600 pounds, they are only 8-16 ounces at birth. They are also blind, covered in fine hair, and totally dependent on their mother’s rich, fatty milk.
