Mountain Goat, Climbing Every Mountain
Mountain goats are not really goats but antelopes. They can jump nearly 12 feet in a single bound and are quite sure-footed. They live in steep, rugged mountain areas in Alaska and western Canada, then south through the Rocky Mountains into Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Like domestic goats, the male is a “billy,” the female a “nanny,” and the offspring is a “kid.”
