Babe Ruth and Mascot, 1922
This photograph shows George Herman "Babe" Ruth (1895–1948) and “Little Ray” Raymond Kelly taking batting positions at Yankee Stadium. Little Ray was Babe Ruth’s personal mascot for 10 years and even had his own Yankee uniform. Their relationship began when Ruth saw Little Ray playing catch with his father at age three. The photograph was published in 1922.
