This photograph shows an Old Judge baseball card portrait of New York Giants William “Buck” Ewing (1859-1906). The New York Giants' mascot beside him was Willie Breslin. The boy mascot was recruited from the streets and wore a miniature Giants uniform. Ewing was the first catcher to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame (1939). The photograph was published ca. 1888.
