This photograph shows Detroit Tigers player Tyrus Raymond “Georgia Peach” Cobb (1886-1961) standing with Cleveland Naps player Joseph Jefferson “Shoeless Joe” Jackson (1887-1951) The two were rivals but respected each other. Cobb called Jackson “the finest natural hitter in the history of the game.” The photograph was published ca. 1913.
