This photograph shows MLB center fielder and manager Allison Jones (1871-1934) playing for the St. Louis Federals. He was best known and beloved when, as player-manager, he led the Chicago White Sox to win the 1906 World Series--quite a feat for a team known as the “Hitless Wonders” at the time! The photograph was published in 1914.
