This photograph shows a posed team portrait of the St. Louis Perfectos (previously known as the St. Louis Browns but soon to be named the St. Louis Cardinals). Players are standing or sitting on a large stairway leading to the grandstands in their uniforms. The photograph was created ca. 1899 by photographer Julius Caesar Strauss.
