The Northern Gannet is the largest seabird of the North Atlantic and can have a wingspan of over 6 feet. They are quite social birds and live in large, noisy breeding colonies on cliffs and islands along the coast. They plunge-dive headfirst at speeds up to 60 mph to catch fish.
