Wood Duck on the Rocks
This perching duck is considered one of North America’s most colorful ducks. Its scientific name translates to “waterfowl in a wedding dress”! Ducks, in general, have compact bodies, webbed feet, and short wings, The shape of their beaks has been adapted to meet the needs of their diets. These highly aquatic birds have waterproof feathers and strong wing muscles for fast flight, though some are better suited for land or diving than others.
