Jerdon’s Baza Hawk in the Open
This medium-sized raptor is found in South and Southeast Asia. It is rarely seen since it usually hides in its forest canopy. But it’s known for spectacular aerial displays, which it may perform alone but usually in pairs or small family groups. These occur at feeding time, when it is on the hunt for lizards, large insects, and other small animals.
NOTE: Some images are valuable historical records. To preserve their original condition, we have presented them as captured; their resolution may not be optimal for modern displays.
