Maj. Gen. J. Sedgwick (Union)
Sedgwick served in the Seminole and Mexican wars prior to the Civil War. His Second Corps division took terrible losses at Antietam where he was twice wounded. He commanded Meade’s left wing at Gettysburg. A Confederate sharpshooter shot and killed him near Spotsylvania Court House in May of 1864.
