This photograph shows five men standing on the iron balcony of the Vulcan Iron Works, located on Cumberland Street in Charleston, South Carolina. The sign on the front of the building reads, "Archr. McLeish Vulcan Iron Works.” The company was an important Southern industrial site that produced war materials such as artillery wheels and more. The photograph was created by George Stacy in 1865.
