Army of the Potomac, Winter Quarters
The Army of the Potomac spent the winter of 1863-64 in winter quarters at Brandy Station, Va. Winter quarters structures were much better than tents, note the log walls even though the roof and eaves were tent canvas. Army carpenters filled in their time making furniture and other items for the camp.
