Young Drummer Boys
This photograph shows the Drum Corps of the 93d New York Infantry in Bealeton, Virginia. The young drummer boys played additional roles in the war as musicians, stretcher-bearers, and assistants to the medical corps. The photograph was taken in August 1863 by Timothy H. O’Sullivan.
