Kabyle Algerian
This oil-on-canvas painting was created ca. 1893 by Bulgarian-born American photographer and painter Antonion Zeno Shindle (1823-1899). Shindle’s passion in life was exploring various cultures and documenting what he learned. It is thought the subject of this painting was from the Kabyle Berber ethnic group in North Africa.
