This oil-on-canvas painting was created ca. 1893 by Bulgarian-born American photographer and painter Antonion Zeno Shindle (1823-1899). Shindle’s passion in life was exploring various cultures and documenting what he learned. This painting is a full-length portrait of a man dressed in traditional Korean royal attire. (Smithsonian)
