It shows English and Dutch ships in the Dutch sea of Goeree Gat after an engagement during the Four Days’ Battle (June 11-14, 1666). The captured ship with a drooping English flag in the foreground is the Swiftsure. In the background is the heavily damaged Dutch ship, Klein Hollandia. (Rijksmuseum)
