Winter Landscape
This oil-on-canvas painting was painted by Dutch landscape artist and lithographer Barend Cornelis Koekkoek (1803–1862) ca. 1836. This peaceful scene probably took place in a hilly region of Gelderland or the German region of the Lower Rhine. There are a number of children and others sledding or otherwise enjoying a snowy day.
