Four-Horse Coach at Upper Falls
This four-horse coach was also called a Yellowstone Observation Wagon, commercially known as an Abbott-Downing coach. The coaches provided scenic tours of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone in the early 1900s, offering stunning views of the falls and canyon. They were replaced by touring automobiles in 1917. Photographed in 1895 by F. Jay Haynes, hand tinted by Stanley R. Waine.
