Hunger Party on Canyon Rim
This touring group, the Hunger party, enjoyed the view from the rim of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone in Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming). This stunning gorge is a 22-mile chasm cut up to 1200 feet deep by the powerful coursing of the Yellowstone River. It is 24 miles long, 1,000 feet deep, and features pink, yellow, and red rock. Photographed in 1901 by Elliot W. Hunter, hand tinted by Stanley R. Waine.
