The Annie
The Annie was the first boat to explore Yellowstone Lake in the future Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming). The small, 12-foot sailboat was used during the historic 1871 Hayden Geological Survey for mapping and scientific study. The two men are likely geologist Ferdinand Hayden and photographer William Henry Jackson. Photographer unidentified, hand tinted by Stanley R. Waine.
