Formation at Mammoth Hot Springs

$48.00 USD
Size: 18x24
Material: Rolled Gloss Photographic Paper (Unlaminated)

The Mammoth Hot Springs were and are located about five miles inside Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming). Nearly 100 hot springs cascade out over travertine terraces. The current major springs have been active off and on since at least 1871 when they were first documented, but they had been forming for thousands of years. Photographed ca. 1886 by F. Jay Haynes, hand tinted by Stanley R. Waine.
