Justus Lund Group at Mammoth Hot Springs
These visitors were photographed in a "Tally-ho" stagecoach on approach to the Mammoth Hotel, originally named the National Hotel. These picturesque six-horse carriages were the chief means of transportation in the park until 1917. Note historic Fort Yellowstone in the background. Photographed in 1903 by F. Jay Haynes, hand tinted by Stanley R. Waine.
