Quanah Parker was a sub-chief of the Quohada band of Comanche and one of the West's last prominent war chiefs. He led many raids in a fierce attempt to save his people's land and lifestyle. He later became a beloved peacetime leader of his tribe. Photographed ca. 1875 by Eagan.
