Bonito, a notable leader of the Chiricahua Apache tribe, is wearing an ammunition belt at his waist and holding a rifle. His moccasins were made of deerskin in traditional Apache style, with the sole turned up at the toes and the legs folded back below the knee. The latter formed a pocket to hold paints and a knife. Photographed in 1884 by Frank A. Randall.
