Navajo Women Weaving

$48.00 USD
Size: 18x24
Material: Rolled Gloss Photographic Paper (Unlaminated)

This Navajo woman sits by a hand-strung loom in front of a log-and-mud Hogan. The photograph was probably shot in New Mexico. Navajo weavers usually sheared, washed, carded and spun the wool for their rugs. Color was added with native plants such as wild walnut and rabbitbrush. Photographed ca. 1920.
