Monarch Butterflies
The North American Monarch butterfly is one of the most beloved natural phenomena in the world, particularly known for its annual migration. Like birds, the Monarch is the only butterfly species that makes a two-way journey. When gathering in their wintering location, the wing movements of the group—hundreds of thousands of monarchs—make an unmistakable hum.
