Ono no Komachi Sonobe Saemon
This woodblock print shows the famous ninth-century Japanese poet Ono no Komachi. "Sonobe Saemon" is the title of one of his poems. The image is from the series, “Ogura Imitations of One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets.” It was created ca. 1847 by Japanese artist Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858), considered the last great master of ukiyo-e art or woodblock print.
