Tōkyō Shimbashi Rengaishi Tetsudō Jōkisha Shinkei Zu
The title translates to “Brick Building and Steam Train in Shimbashi, Tokyo.” This incomplete Japanese triptych shows a Tokyo street lined with buildings. Fine details include people, rickshaws, carriages, a hand-drawn cart, and a steam train. The woodcut was created (with color) ca. 1861 by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Kimiteru Utagawa (1830-1874).
