Oranda, Amerika, Igirisu
The title translates to “Dutch, American, English.” This woodprint shows three men—one Dutch, one English, and one American—gathered around a table. The woodcut was created in 1861 by Japanese artist Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858), considered the last great master of ukiyo-e art or woodblock print. (Library of Congress, LC-DIG-ppmsca-74590)
