Venus Flytrap Sea Anemone
Like the carnivorous plant it is named after, this sea anemone is an opportunist and waits for food to drift into its outstretched tentacles. These carnivores use their tentacles—the pretty “petals”—to inject poison into prey such as small fish, shrimp, and zooplankton. They vary in size from less than an inch to nearly six feet in diameter. They can live to be more than 100 years old.
