Barred Spiral Galaxy
This barred spiral galaxy is named NGC 1300 and is a perfect example of a barred spiral. A barred spiral galaxy is a spiral galaxy with a bar or bulge at its center that is made up of stars. Approximately two-thirds of all spiral galaxies contain such a bar, which affects the motion of stars and gas within the galaxy. (Hubble Space Telescope)
