The barred spiral galaxy NGC 3079 is located in the constellation Ursa Major, about 50 million light-years from Earth. Rising from its center is a large bubble of hot gas that is about 3,000 light-years wide. The bubble is probably caused by stellar winds made from star formation and supernova explosions.
