Banner Act at the Circus

$72.00 USD
Material: Rolled Gloss Photographic Paper (Unlaminated)
Size: 24x36

This promotional circus poster advertises the “Banner Act,” an act in which acrobats performed on horseback. Circuses have always depended on acts that wow the crowds, and this act did just that. The acrobat and horse performed under and over long fabric “banners” held by clowns and other circus performers. This chromolithograph was published ca. 1875 by Gibson & Co. (LC-DIG-pga-01327).
