U. S. Grant from West Point to Appomattox
The portrait in the center of this print shows Ulysses S. Grant facing left. The half-length portrait is surrounded by nine scenes starting from his graduation in 1843 from West Point to Lee’s surrender in 1885, including his appointment by President Lincoln as Commander-in-Chief in 1864. This chromolithograph was published in 1885 by L. Prang & Co. (LC-DIG-pga-01637).
